The concept of a data attribute is used interchangeably with the other terms, field or data field, column or data column. This term is well understood by those familiar with programming and databases but your preference may be to know these more atomic aspects of schemas and datasets by a more simple name.
When you read about Pretectum Schema attributes it should be clear that we are talking about Schema Fields. When talking about dataset attributes, we’re generally talking about the columns of data in the dataset or the fields that relate to the makeup of that dataset.
Schema fields may have additional characteristics that define the business rules of the schema and against which all dataset records and their attributes are evaluated for data quality.
